The Enemy are an English indie rock band formed in Coventry in 2006. After 3 years taking a break from the music industry, The Enemy released their fourth studio album, “It’s Automatic”, on 9 October 2015.

This album has seen the band move away from their previous rock, guitar led sound and grunge indie look. They wanted a reinvention, featuring a more mature, polished, contemporary look and sound.

The Album

The new look that we were tasked with creating for the album, had to be edgy, sharp and artistic, and marry up with the new dramatic change in sound. The new songs where written from the heart, from the bands life experiences and they really wanted to get that across.

We decided that the best way to do this, was to actually have the band write it! We digitised the band’s handwriting and developed actual truetype fonts for each of them. From these fonts we created the artwork for the CD and Album.

We then developed typographical pieces of art, from the song titles handwritten by the band. We mixed up the different titles, from each of the boys, to carve out the design for the face of the CD and back of the album.
