The Alvis Car Company

Imaginate have worked with the Alvis Car Company on the development of a new responsive website to help promote “The Continuation Series” – a limited run of the famous Alvis 4.3 Litre model, 75 years after the last car was produced.

Faithful to the 1936 design, it maintains it’s period character and quality, yet is emission compliant.

The car’s beauty is apparent enough, but the subtle colour palette, typography choices and use of white space give them the perfect platform to shine.

From a technical perspective the site is a complete custom build on a WordPress base, and uses jQuery and CSS Transitions to add subtle effects to the users experience. The use of adaptive images and caching means a good load time whether on a mobile or desktop.

The end result is a fully responsive site that really captures the class and pedigree of the Alvis brand whilst helping develop its modern forward thinking persona.
